Fence Linear Foot Calculator
Enter your lot size or measure each side, add your gates, and get the linear feet of fence, how many panels and posts it takes, and a cut list by side. It runs in your browser; nothing is sent.
Measure along your property lines from your survey, not along the grass. Broward cities require a permit for a new fence, and the survey showing the property lines is part of the application.
A planning guide, not a quote. The counts come from the lengths you enter; the fence we build is measured on site and drawn to your city's rules.

Before you build in Broward
- Permit and survey. Broward cities require a building permit for a new fence, and the application usually needs a copy of your property survey showing the property lines and where the fence goes.
- Height limits.Front yards are often limited to 4 ft and rear and side yards to 6 ft, with setbacks that differ by city. Verify with your city's building department.
- Pool barrier.Florida's Residential Swimming Pool Safety Act (Chapter 515, Florida Statutes) requires a barrier at least 4 ft high around a residential pool, with no gaps or openings a young child could get through or climb, and gates that open outward away from the pool, close and latch on their own, with the latch out of a small child's reach.
- Wind. All of Broward County is in Florida's High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, so the Florida Building Code's HVHZ rules apply to how a fence is built. Solid fences take the full wind load; open fences let it through.
- Wood. A solid wood privacy fence takes the full wind load. Post size, post depth, post spacing and the number of rails are what the permit reviewer looks at in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone.
