What we do

Doors are the openings you use every day, so an impact door has to work well as a door, not only in a storm. We help you choose an approved product that fits the opening and the way you use it, then install it to its approval documents.

  • Impact-rated front entry doors, single or with sidelites.
  • Impact French doors and patio doors.
  • Impact sliding glass doors, including multi-panel sliders onto patios and pool decks.
  • Products approved for the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, usually shown by a Miami-Dade NOA.
  • Sill pans, flashing and sealing so the new door stays dry in heavy rain.
  • Permit application, inspections and permit close-out.

Approved products, installed to the approval

All of Broward County is in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone. Exterior doors installed here need an approval for the HVHZ, usually a Miami-Dade NOA, and the installation (anchors, spacing, sill) has to match that approval to pass inspection.

Replacing an exterior door generally needs a permit from your city's building department. We pull it and close it out.

Impact Entry & Sliding Doors work is done under Broward County Certificate of Competency 20-WD-21968-X (windows, doors, shutters & garage doors).

Impact door questions, answered

Does replacing a sliding glass door need a permit?
Replacing the door unit usually does, and the new door needs an approval for the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone. Smaller repairs like rollers or locks usually don't.
Can an impact door still look like a regular front door?
Yes. Impact entry doors come in many styles, finishes and glass options. The approval covers the whole assembly, so we choose from approved configurations.
My slider drags and leaks at the sill. Repair or replace?
Worn rollers and tracks can often be repaired. If the frame is corroded or you want impact protection, we will quote a replacement too, so you can compare.
Do you install impact windows at the same time?
Yes. Doing windows and doors together keeps it to one permit process and one set of inspections where your city allows it.
